Undervoltage Release

An undervoltage release for circuit breakers is responsible for monitoring voltage and for tripping a breaker if or when the voltage dips to somewhere between 35 and 70 percent of its UVR rating.  Unlike a shunt release, an undervoltage release does not rely on a mechanical latch that is powered by a moment of energy. Instead, it needs constant energy to in order to trip the breaker or keep it closed.
